Service schedule:

We began the Nativity Fast on 11/26/19, which culminates in the Feast of our Lord’s Nativity in the flesh. Throughout this Fast, we commemorate the events that preceded the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ and ultimately transformed human history. We are called to be attentive and faithful, awaiting the Feast of our Lord’s Nativity, which He undertook to save mankind from the slavery of sin, the devil, and death.

Sunday 12/15/19 is the 1st Sunday of the blessed month Kiahk. During this month the Church tells us about how our Lord Jesus Christ gave us His life through the incarnation from St Mary.

The Gospels of the Divine Liturgies during the four weeks of Kiahk are the first chapter from the Gospel according to St. Luke, divided into four sections as follows:
1-This Sunday, the Gospel speaks about the annunciation of Archangel Gabriel to Zacharias.
St. Luke 1:1-25

2- The second Sunday of Kiahk, The Gospel tells us about the Annunciation of the Archangel to the Virgin Mary (St. Luke 1: 26-38)
3- On the third Sunday of Kiahk, the Gospel tells us about the visit of the Virgin St. Mary to Elizabeth
(St Luke 1: 39-56)

4- The last Sunday of this month, the Gospel tells us about  the birth of St. John the Baptist (St Luke 1:57:80)

+ During the month of Kiahk the church joins the heavenly with praising the Lord with praises known as Kiahk Praises or Seven and Four (Seven Theotokias & 4 Hooses)
+ Kiahk Praises are similar in structure to the annual Psalmody with the addition of seasonal hymns, expositions, and explanations.
